Your Leader360 Journey: A Participant Guide

This guide explains what to expect when you take part in a Leader360 survey, from receiving your invitation through to understanding the next steps after completion.

Step-by-step guide

Follow the step-by-step guide below (with screenshots). For more context and FAQs, continue reading underneath.

Receiving your invitation

You’ll receive a welcome email inviting you to take part in the Leader360 survey.

This email includes:

  • a secure, personalised link to your survey
  • instructions on how to get started

Tip: Keep this email handy. You’ll need the same link if you want to return to your survey later or add more stakeholders.

If you don’t see the email, check your junk or spam folder. If it’s still missing, contact your program manager.

Accessing your survey

Click the link in your welcome email to open your survey.

From here, you can:

  • begin your survey
  • invite stakeholders to provide feedback
  • return at any time while the survey remains open

Inviting your stakeholders to respond

Leader360 is a 360-degree feedback survey, which means you’ll invite people you work with (your stakeholders) to provide feedback.

You’ll be guided step by step through:

  • entering the names and email addresses of your stakeholders
  • sending their survey invitations

Once invitations are sent:

  • each stakeholder receives their own secure survey link by email
  • they complete their feedback independently

Note: To protect confidentiality, you won’t be able to see individual responses.

Completing your own survey

You’ll also be asked to complete a self-assessment.

This allows you to:

  • reflect on your own leadership behaviours
  • compare your self-ratings with feedback from your stakeholders

Your self-assessment, combined with stakeholder feedback, will be used to create a comprehensive Leader360 report.

Next steps

Once the survey period has closed:

  • responses are finalised
  • your program manager will receive or generate your Leader360 report
  • you’ll be guided through your results, often in a debrief or coaching session

Your program manager will let you know:

  • when your report is ready
  • how results will be shared and discussed

FAQs

How many stakeholders can I add?

We recommend inviting a minimum of 8 stakeholders, including at least 4 junior colleagues.

This mix helps ensure:

  • balanced and meaningful feedback
  • a more accurate and robust Leader360 report
  • sufficient responses for reliable results

You may invite more than the minimum if you feel it will provide broader or more relevant feedback.

How can I see which stakeholders have responded?

To protect anonymity and confidentiality, you won’t be able to see:

  • who has responded
  • who hasn’t responded
  • individual feedback

How can I add more stakeholders to respond?

You can add more stakeholders at any time while your survey is still open.

To do this:

  1. Return to your original survey link
  2. Follow the same steps used to invite stakeholders initially

If you no longer have your link, contact your program manager to have your invitation resent.

How can I remove a stakeholder?

To remove a stakeholder:

  1. Return to your survey using your original link
  2. Go to your stakeholder list
  3. Click the “X” next to the stakeholder you want to remove

Once removed, that person will no longer be able to submit feedback.

Are my results confidential?

Yes. Your results are confidential.

  • Individual stakeholder responses are anonymised
  • Feedback is aggregated into your Leader360 report
  • You will not see individual responses or who said what

Access to your results is limited to:

  • your program administrators, and
  • MentorKey staff, the platform on which Leader360 is delivered

MentorKey staff only access results where required to support the program or provide technical assistance.
